These remedies, and the health that compost and cover cropping/companion planting produce, along with certain specific management practices (such as in vineyards, the elimination of midseason pruning and the reduction of applications of sulfur for control of powdery mildew by 80 to 90%), bring cost savings and increased yields and quality like nothing else ever created.

Recommended Application Schedule
Always use the Field Sprays in conjunction with a program of compost and compost tea, and cover cropping and companion plantings, and vice versa. The three are like the legs of a three legged stool to build a stable foundation for the rest of what you do in your fields or garden. They create stability, which, if our crop management program is followed judiciously and conscientiously, will lead to self-sustainability, high yields and quality, no disease or insect problems, low operating costs and higher profit.
If possible, on all fields that have never benefited from these sprays, we recommend that the first application occur in four separate applications. To save time, you can apply two at a time. All sprays are applied at a rate of 100 ml. or roughly 3.5 to 4 ounces per acre. They can be applied directly from the concentrate or mixed with water.
The four general Field Sprays labeled Winter - Spring “A” and “B”, and Summer - Fall “C” and “D” are made specifically to be applied either when the days are lengthening, or when the days are shortening. The Winter Solstice at December 20-21 and the Summer Solstice at June 20-21 divide the year. The Winter - Spring Field Sprays are made to be in tune with what Nature grows at that time and are only to be applied during that time. The same applies to the Summer - Fall Field Sprays. For best results apply as close to the Solstices as you can. Two additional applications of the General Field Sprays “A”, “B”, “C” and “D”, around the Spring Equinox and the Fall Equinox is preferred to not spraying at all. These sprays can be applied any time of day or night, at any lunar phase or in the rain or in dry weather. DO NOT, however, attempt to mix them in tanks that held chemicals, poisons, herbicides, pesticides or any toxin or contaminate of any kind. It neutralizes their effectiveness. They can be applied from sprayers that had compost tea, organic fertilizers or elemental sulfur IF they have been thoroughly rinsed three times. See page 5 for more details.
New applications must always be preceded by an application of Premix™ which sets up the soil to receive the other Field Sprays much like a damp sponge will soak up more water than a dry sponge. So your first spray application should always be Premix™.
Next, every soil and crop we have seen over the years has both soil born and plant born pathogenic fungi. The Fungus Interruptus™ Field Spray (FI), when applied to soils or plants, neutralizes these diseases on application. So we always recommend that in the first series of sprays, you apply FI once to the soil after applying Premix™, and once to the leaves after applying the General Field Sprays “A” and “B”, or “C” and “D”.
Third, in your Discovery Kit, you have two sets of General Field Sprays, plus one bottle each of Summer - Fall Premix™ and Summer - Fall Booster Formula™ sprays. These can be applied separately, or mixed together in the right order and sprayed at once. If by mistake, when you are mixing these sprays, you mix them out of order, DO NOT apply this spray mix, it could ruin your crop. Throw it away and call us for replacements.
In the Summer - Fall period, apply this whole mix to the ground, or if applied separately, apply Premix™ to the ground, “C” (or “A” for Winter - Spring) to the ground, “D” (or “B” for Winter - Spring) to the leaves, then the Booster Formula™ to the leaves and ground.
If you have applied this as a 4 spray mix, apply it to the ground. Always some will fall on leaves. Don’t let this worry you as the FI spray will offset any potential damage this might do. Damage might include an increase in fungal populations on leaves if you DON’T apply the FI spray last.
The last in this series is the Fungus Interruptus™ Field Spray applied in the air and on the leaves.
To review, in new fields, the ideal sequence, what we call the Cotton Farm Sequence (since this is where it was originally developed) is to start with Premix™ on the ground, then an application of Fungus Interruptus™ in large droplets on the ground (good for control of Cotton Root Rot and other soil born fungal diseases), then a mix of Premix™, two Field Sprays and the Booster Formula™ applied in large droplets again on the ground, then last a mist of Fungus Interruptus™ again in the air and on the leaves.
We are often asked if wind is a problem when spraying. No, it is not, unless it is higher than 25 to 30 M.P.H. In fact, we encourage spraying in light wind because it tends to move the droplets around for better coverage. Speaking of coverage, your goal is to apply the Field Sprays in an even pattern. DO NOT confuse applying 2 1/2 to 5 gallons per acre with conventional agriculture where 50 gallons an acre or more is the rule. These Field Sprays are extremely potent (and extremely safe - no one’s ever been hurt by them, only helped like getting your hair to grow back or eliminating pain). As such you only need apply 100 ml. per acre. If you cannot set your sprayer to apply less than 5 gal./acre, then you need a new sprayer. The most important consideration is that you apply the sprays evenly, not soaking everything in the field as with conventional agriculture.
Application rates are a function of pressure, nozzle size and speed. We generally run our ATV electric pump sprayers at 25 to 30 lbs. pressure, either through four 6501 TeeJet tips (2 to 2.5 gal./acre) or two .01 GPM tips (4 to 5 gal./acre) at 7 to 8 MPH. You can drive faster in the winter on flat land and slower in the summer around plant growth. The larger or wider the booms, the more land you can traverse.
We’re often asked if rain is a problem. Well, if you don’t like getting wet, it is. Other than that, the rule to follow is that it is all right to spray in a mist, but a rain tends to water down the remedies, so we don’t advise it. It’s also dangerous to drive and walk in wet slippery fields.
So, in sum, this is the yearly spray schedule we recommend for new fields.
First Application just after change of seasons:
Premix™, Fungus Interruptus™ (both as ground sprays), Premix™, “A”, “B” (or “C”, “D”) and Booster Formula™ mixed together (sprayed on the ground) and last Fungus Interruptus™ as a mist in the air.
Second, third and fourth applications at the Equinoxes and after the other Solstice.
Premix™, “A”, “B” and Booster Formula™ (mixed together as a ground spray), then Fungus Interruptus™ (misted as a leaf spray).
The second year and thereafter, if the field is obviously healthy, we recommend that you stick with a simple spray of “A” or “C” and “B” or “D” mixed together in a ground spray, then follow with the Fungus Interruptus™ as an aerial spray.
If you want to make it even simpler and less expensive, just apply “A” or “C” to the ground, then “B” or “D” to the leaves as a mist four times a year. In extremely cold climates where winter snow is present, the December application can be skipped.
The specialty sub-sequence sprays can be applied at any time of the year, depending on the need. If for some reason you apply the sprays out of order, fear not, a reapplication of these sprays in the right order will correct any problems. You should do this as soon as possible inasmuch as these sprays are so powerful, they could screw up your crop if left on for more than a few weeks.
One other warning. Never use the Seed Starting & Transplant Formula™ alone without following up with the General Field Sprays within 5 to 10 days of application. What will happen is that you will get extreme growth of your roots at the expense of the upper growth of the plants.
We’ve been at this for nearly 14 years now and experience has taught us that these spray schedules produce the best results.
